PETRONAS Gear MEP Series are premium performance industrial gear oils specially developed for various types of enclosed industrial gears operating under normal to heavy duty conditions.
Formulated with high quality selected mineral base oils enhanced with advanced extreme pressure, anti-wear, anti-oxidant, anti-rust and anti-foam additives, PETRONAS Gear MEP oils provide excellent extreme pressure and anti-wear protection, smooth operation of the gear drives and up to 1,5x longer lasting performance*. PETRONAS Gear MEP Series meets or exceeds key industrial specifications and OEM requirements.

PETRONAS Gear MEP Series are recommended for use in:

  • various types of enclosed industrial gears (spur/helical/bevel/planetary) with circulation or splash lubrication systems operating at bulk oil temperature up to 110°C
  • gears drives subjected to heavy loads
  • gears drives sensitives to sludge formation
  • non-gear applications include shaft couplings, and heavily loaded plain bearings operating at slow speeds

PETRONAS Hydraulic Series are recommended for use in:

Conditionally they may also be used in circulation, splash, bath and ring oiling systems feeding lubricant to gears and bearings. However please consult our local Technical Service Team and/or OEM manual before application.
For applications where premium performance anti-wear hydraulic fluids are required, PETRONAS Hydraulic PLUS Series is recommended.

PETRONAS Slideway Series oils are recommended for use in:

  • machine tool slideway tables, feed mechanisms, linear guides, headstocks and transverse screws
  • ISO VG68 is generally recommended for slideway on small to medium size machine tools, as well as floded applications in large machines, also suitable for circulating application in large machines and as a moderate duty hydraulic fluid
  • ISO VG220 is the normal recommendation on large machines where way pressures are high or extreme precision is required and for vertical and inclined slideways where drain down can be a problem

Premium Tixotropic Industrial Gearbox Grease

PETRONAS Grease SF is a silica-thickened, semi-fluid grease which in conjunction with a high viscosity base oil is suitable for use in light to medium duty enclosed gear drives and mechanisms.

Applications✚
Petronas Grease SF was primarily designed for the lubrication of enclosed gearboxes especially where oil leakage is a problem. Its thixotropic properties provide high viscosity at rest (zero shear rate) ensuring minimum leakage and making it an ideal lubricant in applications where oil leakage and/or ingress of contaminants are a problem.
This product has the ability to thin down at low shear rates, providing lubrication to moving parts and regain its consistency almost immediately when the shear is removed.
Having good pumpability, it is ideal for use on automotive centralised greasing systems such as those found on trucks.

Petronas Grease Li EP 1, Li EP 2 and Li EP 3 are recommended for the lubrication of both plain and anti-friction bearings even where severe or shock loads are experienced. Other applications include bushings and pins, geared couplings at normal speeds, vibrating shafts and sliding mechanisms under normal operating conditions.

The softer NLGI 1 is ideally suited for Centralized Lubrication Systems (CLS) whilst the NLGI 2 is a general purpose grease. The stiffer NLGI 3 grease is mainly recommended for applications where maximum protection against penetration of water or solid contaminants is required.

Operating temperature range is -30°C to +130°C
